Bread Of Life Of Baker County

Bringing Light To A Dark World

About Us
Bread of Life of Baker County is a 501(c)(3) corporation established in 2004.  The Bread of Life Food Bank was founded to provide food to the underprivileged of Baker City, Baker County, surrounding cities, and other individuals as the need arises.    We provide USDA commodities as well as other foodstuffs to area residents and travelers throughout our region.  We also are available to assist on an emergency basis anyone who is indigent, stranded or in need of assistant due to disaster or family crises.  Our doors are currently open on the second and last Tuesdays of the month from 9 a.m. to Noon.  Additional times are scheduled on an as needed basis, including evenings and weekends.

All volunteer workers, many of whom have worked together with the food bank since 2003, staff the Bread of Life Food Bank.  The Board of Directors are also unpaid volunteers.  Currently 25 part time volunteers donate an average of 185 hours per month in support of the Bread of Life.  These volunteers donate their time, their fuel, and their labor to have everything ready when the doors are open.  We have an office staff as well who handle statistics, grant writing, presentations and education.

The Board Members of the Bread of Life are:  Glenn C. Perkey, President; Gary Ball, Vice President; Dianne Perkey, Treasurer; and Bonnie McCormick, Secretary.
